DEPARTMENTS
Welcome to Sharma Medicare Multi - Speciality Hospital
DEPARTMENT OF INFERTILITY & IVF
Almost 1 in 7 couples around the globe suffer from infertility. At Sharma Medicare we provide a full range of infertility services to fulfill every couples dream of starting a family. We strongly believe that counseling patients about the normal reproductive process and problems that might impact fertility as well as a thorough discussion of all treatment options available will empower patients to make the right choice.

FOLLICULAR MONITORING/ OVULATION STUDY
This involves performing a series of ultrasounds to track the growth of the egg and lining of the uterus to check whether a woman is ovulating or not. It is also used to determine the timing of ovulation so that the couple can have timed intercourse to improve chances of pregnancy. This is especially useful in women with irregular menses and PCOD

INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION
This involves placing sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. This helps in cervical factor infertility, sexual problems like erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation and mild male factor infertility

IN VITRO FERTILIZATION (TEST TUBE BABY)
It involves the stimulation of eggs by injections followed by their retrieval under ultrasound guidance. The eggs are then fertilized with sperm in the laboratory and the embryos formed are then transferred back into the woman’s womb.
This helps in cases of blocked tubes, swollen/damaged tubes (hydrosalpinx), tubectomy/vasectomy cases and endometriosis.

EGG/ SPERM BANK
We have egg and sperm bank for cases of severe male and female infertility as well as advanced age/ menopausal women. All egg and sperm donors are tested for infections and genetic problems as per highest safety and ethical standards.

SURROGACY (WOMB ON RENT)
It involves placing an embryo formed from own/donor eggs with husband/donor sperm inside the womb of another woman who carries the baby to term. Surrogacy is a viable option for women whose uterus is severely damaged due to conditions like multiple fibroids, adhesions, genital tuberculosis etc. or whose uterus is absent from birth or has defects such as uterine septum etc. It is also helps women for whom carrying a pregnancy is dangerous and for those whose uterus has been surgically removed.

SURGICAL SPERM RETRIEVAL
This is used for men with obstructive or non-obstructive azoospermia (no sperm in semen). Sperm is extracted using a thin needle either directly from the epididymis (percutaneous epididymal sperm extraction/PESA) or testes (testicular sperm aspiration /TESA).

REVERSAL OF STERILIZATION/ RECANALIZATION
If a sufficient length of tube is available after open/ laparoscopic sterilization, it is possible to recanalise the tube.

PROXIMAL TUBAL CANNULATION
Under hysteroscopic and laparoscopic guidance, one or both tubes found to be blocked on hysterosalpingography is reopened.
